The ATOTO S8 Gen2, an advanced second generation Android car stereo, boasts a cutting-edge 12nm Soc for enhanced efficiency and reduced power consumption. It's powered by a robust ARM Cortex Octa-Core processor for top-notch performance and features the innovative ATOTO AICE UI 11.0, offering deep customization on Android Q. It offers three internet access options: Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, and USB Tethering, surpassing traditional Android car stereos that only provide Wi-Fi connectivity.

The Speed Compensated Volume Control (SCVC) in the ATOTO S8 intuitively adjusts the system's volume in response to changes in vehicle speed, countering road and wind noise at speeds of 50mph and above, using sophisticated software algorithms guided by GPS positioning. The S8 introduces 6 touch gestures, allowing quick two-finger or three-finger taps to access the multi-task menu, switch among 9 preset EQ modes, adjust screen brightness, and more. Additionally, it supports split-screen display.

The S8G2A74SD uses the UDH07D mounting style, a Universal Double-DIN Headunit with a 7-inch display, compatible with nearly all double-DIN dash kits for a seamless, integrated appearance. Nice unit

It does just about everything I need. connects to the phone via wire really quickly, but Bluetooth is a little slow and sometimes I have to fiddle with it. I'm not sure if it's my truck or the head unit but I have an 04 Toyota tundra and the s8 doesn't fit super well. Either my double din space isn't quite double din or this unit is a tiny bit too big. Overall I'm happy though. Backup camera and car play were 2 huge long overdue upgrades I never knew I needed.

Complex setup for steering wheel controls and audio

Great head unit!

So far this is ten times better than my stock radio, easy to install with correct wiring adapter for you specific vehicle. My only complaint is the sub output has to low of voltage, I lost most of my bass to the subwoofer and had to install a line converter to get it back. Overall I’m very pleased with this head unit! Best android unit on Amazon in my opinion.

This unit gets very hot - thermal images

The thermal images taken in this review were all done in a cool air conditioned room with an ambient temperature of 80F and 39 percent humidity. In dash temperatures in vehicles can exceed 180F in direct sun in hot summer conditions.The touch screen temperature of this device can exceed 135F (57C) in a cool air conditioned environment. In a warmer environment such as a hot dash on a hot day I am concerned that the unit may suffer from thermal overload and begin to fail. This unit features a QLED screen. 185F or 85C is the point at which modern QLED screens begin to suffer from thermal damage.This unit seriously needs better heat sinks for thermal rejection or a cooling fan.It can be uncomfortable to the touch. A temperature of 135F and above generally becomes uncomfortable to the human touch. In a warm car or in a hot dash this screen will often exceed that temperature.In addition, circuit board components also fail faster under elevated temperatures.

Lots of features - Not lots of money - Works with factory amplifier

I bought this to replace the Bose 6 disc changer in my 2011 Mazda MX-5. I selected the S8 Standard primarily for the low level outputs (RCA Jacks). This enabled me to use the factory Bose amplifier and factory Bose speakers, saving me a ton of time and money. I installed this myself, and with a little rewiring, i was able to activate the steering wheel controls. The android auto works perfectly, and mirrors my phone, and will read text messages. Importantly, this headunit has physical buttons on the front for power, volume, and program, so you're not fumbling around with a screen when driving. The sound is great, and the features are many...I love this thing!
